Cebu Schools Dominate Nursing Board Topnotchers List
The Professional Regulation Commission announced outstanding results for Cebu-based nursing graduates in the November 2025 Nurses Licensure Examination, with 41 graduates from Cebu schools securing positions in the national topnotchers list. The results released on Thursday, November 27, 2025, revealed that Cebu's top performers occupied ranks 5 through 10 in the highly competitive examination.
Top Performing Institutions and Graduates
Eight higher education institutions across Cebu province produced these exceptional nursing graduates. Leading the Cebu contingent at Rank 5 with a score of 93% were eight outstanding individuals: Britney Finn Villanueva Almacin from University of Cebu Banilad, Mariah Kaye Almirante from Southwestern University, Chemmy Swayne Chiong Alontaga from Southwestern University, Kristina Ysabel Igdanes Degula from Cebu Normal University, China Jane Ortega Liddawa from University of Cebu Pardo and Talisay, Gianina Trish Gallegos Rivera from Cebu Doctors University, Ronil Fronda Tomboc from University of San Carlos, and Quisha Mariz Gacasan Villacorta from Southwestern University.
The success continued with Rank 6 achievers Candy Angelie Navarro Dublin from Southwestern University and Helena Ruth Camson Lapurga from Cebu Normal University scoring 92.80%. Kathleen Claire Ang Co from Velez College secured Rank 7 with 92.60%, while multiple graduates from various Cebu institutions claimed Rank 8 with 92.40%.
Perfect Passing Rates for Cebu Institutions
In a remarkable demonstration of educational excellence, Cebu Doctors University and Velez College both achieved perfect 100% passing rates among schools with more than 100 examinees, sharing the top spot in this category. Similarly, Cebu Normal University and Cebu Technological University ranked first among schools with 50-99 examinees, also posting perfect passing rates.
The national passing rate stood at an impressive 90.04 percent, with 40,692 out of 45,192 examinees successfully passing the November 2025 PNLE. This outstanding performance by Cebu-based institutions and their graduates highlights the province's growing reputation as a center of excellence for nursing education in the Philippines.
