A motorist died after colliding with an Isuzu utility truck at around 4:25 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, along the National Highway in Barangay Ilihan, Toledo City.
Victim Identified
The victim was identified as Faustino Macaday Kilag, 49, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City. According to the investigation conducted by the Toledo City Police Station, the motorcycle and the Isuzu truck were traveling in opposite directions.
Details of the Incident
The victim was coming from Barangay Das and heading towards Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City, while the truck was en route to the municipality of Pinamungajan. Upon reaching the incident area, the motorcycle attempted to overtake a vehicle ahead but lost control, crossing into the opposite lane.
Kilag collided with the truck and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was rushed to Toledo City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Legal Action
The truck driver, identified as Jorvic Macan Veloso, 33, a resident of Barangay Tajao, Pinamungajan, is currently in the custody of the Toledo City Police Station. He is facing charges of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide.
