Cebu Businesses Unite: Task Force Padayon Delivers Aid After Typhoon Tino
Cebu Business Groups Launch Typhoon Tino Relief Operations

Cebu Business Community Rallies for Typhoon Victims

When Typhoon Tino battered Cebu on November 4, 2025, leaving widespread destruction in its wake, the local business sector immediately sprang into action. United under Task Force Padayon Cebu, various business groups and corporations demonstrated how coordinated efforts can transform crisis response into a powerful display of community resilience.

The task force, comprising Cebu's leading chambers, corporations, and civic organizations, mounted a comprehensive three-day relief operation from November 6 to 9, 2025. Their mission brought essential assistance to families across Lapu-Lapu City, Consolacion, Cebu City, Talisay, and Compostela - areas severely impacted by the typhoon's fury.

Corporate Bayanihan in Action

The relief operation showcased remarkable collaboration among Cebu's business leaders. SM Foundation Inc. provided all food packs distributed to affected families, while Conching Food Industries contributed fresh loaf breads to supplement the aid.

Other significant contributions included:

  • Treasure Island Corp. donating 10 IBC tanks to Lapu-Lapu City Government for clean water access in islet communities
  • Carmen Copper Corp. providing 10 water tanks for Consolacion residents
  • Golden Prince Hotel & Suites and Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan donating blankets, slippers, towels, and bathrobes to restore dignity to displaced families
  • CCCI supplying trapals, ropes, and water filters for Villa del Rio residents

The operation distributed 1,500 food packs in Consolacion and another 1,370 food packs plus 1,000 loaves of bread in Talisay City, Compostela, and Villa del Rio.

Strategic Response and Community Impact

The effectiveness of the relief effort was enhanced by CCCI's rapid needs assessment, which identified Barangay Tamiao Dos in Compostela as among the most severely affected areas. This strategic approach ensured that aid reached those who needed it most.

Critical logistics support came from Lalamove, Decoline, and RDAK, who navigated damaged roads to ensure timely delivery of relief goods. Their transport capabilities proved essential in reaching isolated communities.

Adding inspiration to the final day of operations, Bini members Aiah and Colette joined volunteers, engaging with survivors and highlighting the importance of youth leadership during crises.

Jay Yuvallos, CCCI president, captured the spirit of the initiative: "In moments of adversity, the Cebuano heart always beats as one. Through unity and compassion, we rise stronger together."

The task force continues its mission with another wave of relief scheduled for Danao City on Wednesday, November 12.

Formed as a multi-sectoral alliance, Task Force Padayon Cebu brings together the Cebu CCI, PCCI Visayas, Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry, City of Talisay CCI, PCCI Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu Contractors Association, Philippine Red Cross, Rotary Clubs of Cebu, Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association Inc., and numerous other business and civic partners.
