The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 started distributing P5,000 cash relief assistance to 32,149 transport and delivery drivers in Cebu on Monday, June 15, 2026.
According to DSWD-7 officials, the beneficiaries include 18,959 motorcycle taxi drivers, 8,852 delivery drivers, and 4,338 Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) drivers.
In Bohol, 176 delivery service drivers and 189 TNVS drivers are qualified for the aid.
The distribution is being conducted until Thursday, June 18, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at SM Seaside City Cebu Sky Hall.
The agency provided the financial assistance as part of its contribution to the Unified Package of Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Framework.
According to the DSWD, the UPLIFT Framework is a strategy of the National Government under Executive Order No. 110, aimed at protecting the economy and vulnerable sectors from the effects of international conflicts in the Middle East.
During the ongoing distribution on Tuesday, June 16, a total of 8,320 Move It and Grab riders under Grab Philippines received the one-time financial aid.
Meanwhile, some delivery riders questioned why they were not included in the list of beneficiaries and sought clarification on why only selected riders were included in the aid program.
Some riders also expressed concern that only names recommended by certain groups were submitted to the DSWD, leaving others off the list.
In response, the DSWD said that complaints or inquiries regarding non-inclusion in the list should be directed to the respective transport network companies, as they are responsible for submitting the list of beneficiaries.
