Davao de Oro Earthquake Relief Reaches 8,896 Families

The Provincial Government of Davao de Oro has been actively providing crucial assistance to families severely impacted by the recent magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck the Davao Region. Under the leadership of Governor Raul Mabanglo, the province has maintained a swift and sustained disaster response operation throughout the affected areas.

Coordinated Relief Operations Across Municipalities

From October through November 2025, the provincial government has successfully distributed aid to 8,896 affected families across multiple municipalities. The relief efforts have reached communities in Maco, Pantukan, New Bataan, Montevista, Nabunturan, Mabini, Monkayo, Compostela, and Mawab.

The identification of beneficiaries was carefully conducted through the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) system. This crucial evaluation was carried out by the local disaster risk reduction and management council in close coordination with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

Strategic Distribution System

Relief food packs, generously provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Davao, have been efficiently delivered to affected municipalities. The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has been instrumental in ensuring that these essential supplies reach families without unnecessary delays.

The assessment process specifically targeted households where properties were classified as either partially damaged or deemed unsafe for occupancy. This systematic approach has guaranteed that assistance reaches those most in need following the devastating earthquake.

Continued Commitment to Recovery

Governor Mabanglo has emphasized that relief operations will continue until all affected areas receive the necessary support. The provincial government remains committed to addressing the ongoing needs of communities as they recover from the disaster.

The coordinated efforts between various government agencies and local units have earned widespread appreciation from the affected families. Many residents have expressed gratitude for the timely response and continued support during this challenging period.

As Davao de Oro continues its recovery journey, the provincial government maintains its pledge to stand with affected communities until normalcy is fully restored across all earthquake-impacted areas.
