PBA's Humanitarian Play: A Three-Week Relief Operation
Commissioner Willie Marcial revealed that the PBA will utilize its upcoming three-week break to visit and support areas severely impacted by Typhoon Tino and Typhoon Uwan. This strategic pause in the league schedule allows players and officials to directly engage with affected communities.
The league's primary mission is to deliver essential construction materials and supplies to families who lost their homes and livelihoods. To ensure the aid reaches those who need it most, the PBA will be working in close coordination with local government units in the target regions.
Target Regions and Financial Goal
The PBA has identified specific provinces that will receive assistance. The relief efforts will be focused on the Bicol region, Cebu, Negros, Catanduanes, and Aurora. These areas were among the hardest hit by the powerful storms.
To fund this large-scale project, the PBA is setting an ambitious financial target. The league aims to raise between P4 million to P5 million to procure and distribute the necessary aid, demonstrating a major commitment to national recovery efforts.
