Typhoon Tino Devastates Cebu Province with Rising Death Toll
The Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has reported a staggering human cost following the destructive path of Typhoon Tino across the province. According to their latest situation report issued at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, the storm has claimed 108 lives, left 1,365 people injured, and left 44 individuals missing.
Municipalities Bear the Brunt of Typhoon's Fury
Compostela emerged as the hardest-hit area with the highest number of casualties. The municipality recorded 37 fatalities, 362 injured individuals, and 23 missing persons. Rescue teams have recovered six additional bodies in recent operations, including two unidentified victims, three confirmed residents from neighboring Liloan, and one from Cebu City.
Liloan followed closely with 34 deaths, 126 injured, and 2 missing persons, while Balamban reported 14 fatalities, 869 injured, and 15 missing individuals. The significant number of injured in Balamban indicates the severe impact the typhoon had on this coastal municipality.
Rescue Operations Continue Across Affected Areas
Other severely affected areas include Danao City with 9 fatalities, 1 injured, and 1 missing and Talisay City reporting 7 deaths and 6 injured. Asturias documented 4 fatalities, 2 injured, and 2 missing persons, with one additional fatality previously listed among the missing now confirmed.
Smaller but significant impacts were felt in Mandaue City, where recovery operations included retrieving the body of a man found inside a warehouse in Barangay Paknaan on November 5. The city recorded 1 fatality, 1 injured, and 1 missing person. Bantayan reported 1 death and 2 injured, while Tabogon documented 1 fatality.
Emergency teams and volunteers continue retrieval and rescue operations across the province as authorities work to account for all missing persons and provide medical assistance to the injured. The PDRRMO continues to monitor the situation and coordinate disaster response efforts throughout Cebu Province.
