Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said that the International Criminal Court (ICC) is expected to issue an arrest warrant against Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go in the coming months.
In a television interview, Trillanes stated that the warrant against Go, named as an accomplice of former President Rodrigo Duterte in cases of crimes against humanity, murder, and attempted murder, would be released within months.
“Next is Senator Bong Go, but to be clear, it might take months,” he said.
Trillanes is one of the complainants in the ICC case against Duterte related to the bloody anti-drug campaign.
Duterte was arrested and brought to The Hague, Netherlands in March 2025. He was charged with the following crimes:
- Killings in or around Davao City while he was mayor (2013-2016) through the Davao Death Squad, involving 19 victims allegedly criminals, including three children.
- Killings of “high-value targets” during his presidency (2016-2017) involving 14 victims.
- Killings and attempted murder during barangay clearance operations during his presidency (2016-2018) involving 45 victims.
Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, also identified as an accomplice, has been ordered arrested by the ICC via a warrant dated November 2025 but only opened on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Trillanes revealed that ICC prosecutors identified Go’s role as the distributor of rewards for each killing in the drug war campaign, as well as his service as the alleged leader of the “Special Operations Group” within Duterte’s “National Death Squad.”
“This is about payment or accountability. When they were in power, they did not care about the lives of Filipinos. Now, it is time to pay,” Trillanes added.
