US President Donald Trump plans to personally watch one of the home games of the New York Knicks in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals at Madison Square Garden as a special guest of Knicks owner James Dolan.
Invitation from Dolan
Trump said Dolan had invited him to watch Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals, but it did not happen because the Knicks finished the series in just four games against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"Boy, what a team. I think I'll be going to one of the games. Yeah, I was invited by numerous people," Trump said.
Knicks' Return to Finals
The Knicks, who returned to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, are waiting for the winner of the Western Conference finals series, where the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder currently leads the San Antonio Spurs, 3-2.
In the upcoming NBA Finals, the Knicks will host Game 3 on June 9, 2026 (Philippine time) and Game 4 on June 11.
Trump has long lived in New York and has been a friend of Dolan for a long time.
