A mother in Cebu City has filed allegations against the staff of Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC), accusing them of negligence that she claims resulted in the death of her unborn child. However, the referral process was delayed by four to five hours because of her thyroid condition. During this time, she was reportedly informed that CCMC could not provide care due to a lack of available doctors, leaving her waiting without proper medical attention.
Upon finally being transferred to VSMMC, Amahan's condition had deteriorated to a critical state, necessitating an emergency cesarean section. Doctors at VSMMC allegedly told her that if the referral had been expedited, there was a high probability that her baby could have been saved, highlighting the severe consequences of the delay.
