ICC Arrest Warrant for Bong Go Expected Soon

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is expected to issue an arrest warrant against Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go in the coming months, former senator Antonio Trillanes IV said in a television interview. Trillanes stated that the warrant for Go, named as a co-conspirator of former President Rodrigo Duterte for crimes against humanity, murder, and attempted murder, will be released within a few months.

“Next is Senator Bong Go, but to be clear, it might happen a few months from now,” Trillanes said. He was among the complainants in the ICC case against Duterte regarding the bloody drug war.

Duterte was arrested and flown to The Hague in the Netherlands in March 2025. He faces charges for murders in Davao City from 2013 to 2016 involving 19 victims, including three children; murders of high-value targets from 2016 to 2017 with 14 victims; and murders and attempted murders in barangay clearance operations from 2016 to 2018 covering 45 victims.

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, also identified as a co-perpetrator, was ordered arrested by the ICC in a warrant dated November 2025, unsealed on May 11, 2026.

Trillanes said ICC prosecutors recognized Go’s role as the distributor of rewards for executions during the drug war and as the purported leader of the “Special Operations Group” within Duterte's “National Death Squad.”

“This is about paying back or being held accountable. When they were in power and thriving, they didn’t care about the lives of Filipinos. Now, it’s time to settle the score,” Trillanes said. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
