Minalin Town Launches Inaugural Itik Cooking Contest to Support Local Duck Industry

The town of Minalin celebrated its first-ever Itik Cooking Contest on Thursday, February 5, 2026, as part of the week-long fiesta festivities in Barangay Lourdes. This culinary event highlighted duck-based dishes, aiming to promote and strengthen the local duck-raising industry, which has been identified as a key livelihood program for residents.

Promoting Duck Dishes and Local Livelihood

According to Mayor Philip Naguit, the contest was organized to sustain the relevance of the duck industry, particularly among the youth. He expressed his appreciation for the initiative, stating, "Nagpapasalamat po ako sa masaya, makabuluhan, at nakakabusog na activity na kanilang binuo." The event featured a total of 12 dishes, showcasing the versatility of duck as a main ingredient.
