Sanxo Reyes Celebrates First Birthday with Heartwarming Little Town Theme

It is always a surreal and touching experience to attend the birthday parties of children whose parents you have known since your academic years. Ryan Reyes and Darlene Geson Reyes are two individuals I have been acquainted with since high school, and reflecting on who I perceived them to be back then—then witnessing who they have become today—is both jarring and profoundly heartwarming.

Friends Turned Family

The celebrant, Sanxo Mateo Reyes, recently marked his first birthday last December at the Oakridge Horizons event space. He is a cheerful and friendly child who fearlessly interacts with everyone around him, consistently bringing smiles to faces with his expressive demeanor and small, endearing gestures. His loving older sister, Sienna, dotes on him endlessly, sharing her affection for popular children's characters like Paw Patrol, Blippi, and Ms. Rachel.

I watched with admiration as Ryan and Darlene continue to raise their two children with immense intention and love. Now, they have their second-born, Sanxo, adding to their beautiful family dynamic.

Family and Friends Gather for the Celebration

The Reyes family went all-out to celebrate Sanxo's significant milestone, capturing the memory in a Little Town display. This theme was inspired by Sanxo's distinct interests, particularly his fascination with bubbles and various forms of transportation, including fire trucks, excavators, cranes, police cars, ambulances, and buses.

The afternoon was filled with a lively mix of activities tailored to what delights Sanxo most. Highlights included a Paw Patrol mascot appearance, a captivating bubble show, and a light show hosted by the Dreamcatchers dressed as Ms. Rachel and Blippi. This not only infused the event with joy but also offered guests a glimpse into who Sanxo is during this brief and beautiful season of his life.

Cherished Moments with Loved Ones

One must always take the time to enjoy milestones with the ones held nearest and dearest. The celebration featured heartfelt moments, such as photos with grandparents and extended family members, including Enrico Reyes, Sam Reyes, Shirlyn Reyes, Marites Geson, Jace Holaysan, and Stephen Geson.

Friends also joined in the festivities, with attendees like AJ Durano, Junie Lerma, Sassha Yu, Saige Yu, Nicole Alegrado, Brain Hao, Patrice Gandionco, Solana Gandionco, Gio Gandionco, Jasmine Rodriguez, Lorenzo Rodriguez, Tiffany Lerma, Beatrice Hao, and Gabrielle Ricardo sharing in the joy.

A Reflection on Time and Growth

In many ways, the celebration served as a poignant reminder of how time slowly reveals itself through people. In Sanxo's cheerfulness, curiosity, and ease around others, one can already sense the beginnings of who he is becoming. Similarly, in Ryan and Darlene, I observed how time had unfolded them—not into entirely different individuals, but into fuller versions of who they always were.

This first birthday party was not just a festive occasion but a testament to family bonds, personal growth, and the simple joys of childhood. Published on February 5, 2026, it stands as a memorable event that highlights the importance of celebrating life's precious moments with loved ones.
