According to the investigation by the Badian Police Station, Clarifel and her cousin, the driver, had been drinking at a night market store starting at 9:00 PM on Friday, December 19. They began their journey home at around 3:00 AM on Saturday.
The driver, identified as 20-year-old Mark Anthony Vicen from Barangay Alawijao, was operating the motorcycle at high speed. The road was reportedly slippery due to rain. He lost control, causing the motorcycle to slide and crash into a tree.
The impact threw Clarifel several meters away from the crash site. Mark Anthony, the driver, survived the collision and was injured.
