Malacañang Palace has confirmed that the scheduled meeting of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and lawmakers under the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) will not push through today.
Palace Confirms No LEDAC Meeting
According to Palace Press Officer USec. Claire, no reason was provided for the cancellation. She stated that the LEDAC meeting is simply not on the President's schedule for today.
It was earlier reported that Senate President Allan Peter Cayetano had been contacted by the council secretariat last week, inquiring if he was willing to proceed with the LEDAC meeting. LEDAC meetings typically discuss the priority legislative measures of the Executive branch.
UPLIFT Meeting to Proceed
Despite the cancellation of the LEDAC meeting, the UPLIFT meeting will take place this morning at the Palace, led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
This development comes amid ongoing discussions on the government's legislative agenda and the administration's efforts to push for key reforms.
