New NBI 7 Director Vows to Intensify Anti-Corruption Drive

New National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 Regional Director Dominador Cimafranca has pledged to strengthen the campaign against government corruption and other major crimes. He officially assumed office on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Priorities and Mandate

During a press briefing on Tuesday, June 30, Cimafranca outlined his priorities, which include aggressive investigation of cases related to government corruption, agricultural smuggling, illegal drugs, cybercrime, violations of vape regulation laws, intellectual property rights infringements, environmental law violations, organized crime, white-collar crimes, and crimes affecting national security.

“Upon formally assuming office, I wish to inform the public and our stakeholders that one of my foremost tasking priorities given by higher ups will be the vigorous investigation of cases under our jurisdiction. Our mandate is clear: to uphold the rule of law, protect the rights of citizens, and ensure accountability across all sectors,” Cimafranca said.

“We will ensure that justice is not only served but seen to be served,” he added.

Coordination with Academic Institutions

Cimafranca also revealed that NBI 7 has been directed to strengthen coordination with local academic institutions to help maintain schools as peace zones.
