3 of 7 Filipino Crew in ICU After Iran Drone Attack

Three of the seven Filipino crew members of the Maltese-flagged vessel MV San Antonio, who were injured in an Iranian drone attack in the Strait of Hormuz on May 5, remain in the intensive care unit (ICU) but are in stable condition, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

DMW Secretary Provides Update

DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac reported that four of the Filipino crew members sustained minor injuries, while the three in the ICU have stable vital signs. He also noted that one crew member who suffered severe injuries has been extubated and is now able to breathe on his own.

Security Concerns

Secretary Cacdac declined to disclose the hospital where the Filipino crew members are being treated for security reasons. He assured that the Philippine Ambassador, Migrant Office, Labor Attache, and an OWWA officer are present in the country where the crew members are recovering to monitor their condition.
