Six individuals were arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7, together with the police, after two drug dens were raided in Cebu City and Dalaguete town on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
Raids in Cebu City and Dalaguete
The first operation was conducted by the PDEA Cebu City Office and Labangon Police Station at 3:59 p.m. on the same day, targeting a drug den located at Salvador Extension, Barangay Labangon. The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals.
PDEA 7 Director Joel Plaza identified the arrested suspects as alias Edison, 47, who operated the drug den; his cohort alias Ramil, 44, an e-bike driver; and alias Karlah, 38, a vendor, who was caught sniffing shabu inside the drug den.
Operatives seized seven packets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams with an estimated average market value of P68,000, buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia.
Second Operation Nets Suspect
At 8:40 p.m., another anti-illegal drug operation was launched by the PDEA Cebu Provincial Office and Dalaguete Police Station in Barangay Upper Balud, Dalaguete. This resulted in the arrest of alias Marivic, 40, while her live-in partner, alias Onik, managed to escape.
Operatives recovered three packets of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams, estimated to be worth P340,000, along with a cellphone and other evidence.
Surveillance and Legal Proceedings
Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA 7, said that the drug den in Labangon had been under case buildup for two weeks, while the one in Dalaguete had been monitored for a month, after receiving information from their trusted sources.
The seized evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 Regional Laboratory for chemical analysis, while cases are being prepared against the suspects.
