Mongao was immediately relieved from his post and put into A/U status to give way to a thorough investigation by the Training Command," Dema-ala said in an official statement. The controversy stems from an online statement allegedly made by Colonel Mongao on social media, which indicated a withdrawal of support for the President. Major General Michael Logico, commander of the Training Command, revealed that attempts to contact Mongao following the post were unsuccessful.
"An investigation is underway to determine possible administrative and legal charges that may be imposed upon him in relation to his online statement," Logico said in a Facebook post. The probe will examine the content and context of the social media activity.
