The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cebu Provincial Office, in coordination with the Labangon Police Station 10 of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), apprehended two alleged high-value targets (HVTs) during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Kadasig, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.
PDEA 7 Director Joel Plaza identified the suspects as alias "Dodong," 20, the primary target, and alias "Nilo," 38, both residents of the barangay. Authorities confiscated from the suspects five packets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 106 grams, with an estimated average market value of PHP 720,800.
In addition to the drugs, operatives seized buy-bust money and a cellphone used in the transaction. The evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 Laboratory for forensic examination.
Investigation and Follow-up
Investigation revealed that Dodong could sell up to 500 grams of shabu weekly. Authorities are currently tracing the suspects' supplier for a follow-up operation.
The arrested individuals are now detained at the PDEA 7 detention facility in Barangay Lahug, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
