Authorities in Central Visayas have dealt a massive blow to the illegal drug trade in the region, confiscating narcotics with a total street value approaching P1 billion and arresting almost ten thousand suspects throughout the year 2025.
Unrelenting Operations Yield Massive Haul
According to official data released by the Police Regional Office (PRO 7), law enforcement personnel conducted a relentless series of 8,244 separate anti-illegal drug operations from January 1 to December 31, 2025. These operations led to the apprehension of 9,568 individuals suspected of involvement in the drug trade.
The most significant seizure was 129,681.12 grams of shabu (methamphetamine). Based on standard drug price calculations, this massive quantity of shabu alone is valued at a staggering P881,831,616.
Variety of Narcotics Confiscated
Beyond shabu, operatives also secured substantial amounts of other illegal substances. The confiscated items include:
- 3,231.63 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
- 14,421 fully grown marijuana plants.
- The total estimated value for all marijuana products seized is P3,271,995.60.
Furthermore, the campaign resulted in the confiscation of 284.71 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately P1,508,963, and 60 tabletsP102,000.
