Overtaking Maneuver Leads to Fatal Collision
According to the investigation by the Dalaguete Municipal Police Station, Bolhano was traveling north along the national highway. Upon reaching the area, he attempted to overtake another motorcycle driven by alias Van, 17, who had two passengers. Witnesses described Bolhano's speed as high.
During the overtaking, Bolhano's motorcycle sideswiped the left side of Van's motorcycle, causing Van's vehicle to fall. Bolhano's motorcycle then swerved into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a Ford Ranger pickup driven by a female driver from Oslob who was in her proper lane. Due to the high speed, Bolhano could not return to the right lane, resulting in the crash. The impact threw Bolhano, who died instantly.
