The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 reported the seizure of PHP 10.6 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 471 suspects during a six-day anti-crime operation in Central Visayas. The campaign, conducted from May 10 to 16, 2026, targeted illegal drugs, wanted persons, loose firearms, and illegal gambling across the region.
Drug Operations
Operatives arrested 214 drug suspects and confiscated 1,565.91 grams of suspected shabu, valued at PHP 10,648,188. The operations were part of a broader effort to curb the illegal drug trade in the area.
Arrest of Wanted Persons
Police also arrested 109 individuals with active warrants, including 20 on the most wanted list and 89 classified as other wanted persons. This underscores the commitment to apprehending fugitives and enhancing public safety.
Loose Firearms and Illegal Gambling
Operations against loose firearms led to the arrest of 26 suspects and the seizure of 53 firearms, one grenade, and 100 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, four firearms were surrendered under Oplan Katok, a program encouraging gun owners with expired licenses to temporarily surrender their weapons. In parallel, police arrested 122 individuals for illegal gambling and seized PHP 20,442 in cash linked to illegal numbers games.
