The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 confiscated over P10.6 million worth of illegal drugs in just six days of anti-crime operations from May 10 to 16, 2026. The operations across Central Visayas also led to the arrest of 471 individuals.
Drug Suspects and Seizures
According to PRO-7 data, 214 drug suspects were arrested, and 1,565.91 grams of suspected shabu were seized, with a standard drug price of P10,648,188.
Manhunt Operations
In intensified manhunt operations against wanted persons with pending warrants, PRO-7 captured 109 individuals, including 20 Most Wanted Persons (MWP) and 89 ordinary wanted persons. These MWPs are priority targets due to the severity of their cases, such as heinous and high-impact crimes.
Campaign Against Loose Firearms
In the campaign against loose firearms, 26 suspects were arrested, and 53 firearms of various calibers, one grenade, and 100 bullets were seized. Additionally, four firearms were voluntarily surrendered under “Oplan Katok,” a police initiative where owners with expired licenses are visited and asked to temporarily surrender their weapons.
Anti-Illegal Gambling Operations
Meanwhile, 122 gamblers were arrested in the campaign against illegal gambling, including illegal numbers games, with P20,442 in bet money confiscated.
Commendation and Directives
PRO-7 Acting Regional Director Arnold Abad commended his personnel in the operating units for their relentless anti-crime campaign to keep the region safe and peaceful. Abad also directed all police units in Central Visayas to strengthen the implementation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s “Safer Cities” initiative to further enhance public safety, crime prevention, and community security.
