The raid was executed at 8:16 in the morning on January 24, 2026, by a coordinated team from the Caloocan City Police Station, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, and the Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU). This targeted operation focused on a suspect who remains at large and is facing charges for violating Section 8 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This law imposes penalties for the manufacture of dangerous drugs and controlled chemicals.

Seized Items and Estimated Value

During the operation, authorities seized two containers of a liquid chemical believed to be phenylacetone, with an estimated total volume of approximately 20 liters. Police have estimated that the market value of this substance exceeds P10 million. Additionally, a range of laboratory-grade equipment was recovered, including:

  • Various other tools allegedly used in the production of illegal drugs

Ongoing Investigation and Police Strategy

Authorities have stated that further investigation is ongoing to identify other suspects and trace the primary target of this operation. PNP acting chief Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units, attributing the success to the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (Empo) strategy. This approach aims to strengthen intelligence-driven law enforcement efforts.

The PNP has reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against illegal drugs as part of its nationwide campaign for community safety. This bust underscores the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities in the Philippines, highlighting the importance of vigilant policing and strategic interventions.
