PRO 7 Holiday Crackdown: 170 Drug Suspects Nabbed

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 in Central Visayas has significantly intensified its anti-criminality campaigns to ensure a peaceful and orderly holiday season for the public. In a decisive week-long operation, authorities recorded substantial gains against illegal drugs, wanted persons, loose firearms, and illegal gambling.

Major Drug Bust and Wanted Persons Captured

From December 14 to 20, 2025, PRO 7 operatives successfully apprehended 170 drug personalities. During these operations, law enforcers confiscated more than 4 kilograms of suspected shabu. The illegal drugs have an estimated street value of a staggering P28.7 million.

Simultaneously, the relentless pursuit of wanted individuals yielded the arrest of 63 persons. Among those captured, seven were classified as most wanted individuals in their respective areas.

Crackdown on Loose Firearms and Illegal Gambling

The regional police force did not relent in its campaign against unlicensed weapons. Their operations led to the confiscation of 38 loose firearms, one explosive, and 62 live ammunition. This crackdown resulted in the arrest of 22 individuals related to these violations.

In the fight against illegal gambling, PRO 7 personnel arrested 29 gamblers and seized cash and various gambling paraphernalia from their operations.

Leadership Commends Relentless Efforts

Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, the chief of PRO 7, praised the dedication and accomplishments of his personnel. He emphasized the direct link between their work and public safety during the festive period.

"As Christmas approaches, PRO 7 remains relentless in its efforts to protect our communities," General Maranan stated. He added, "These strong weekly gains demonstrate our resolve to keep illegal drugs and criminal elements away so the public can celebrate safely and meaningfully."

The recent accomplishments underscore PRO 7's commitment to its mandate. The coordinated operations across different criminal fronts aim to deter lawlessness and provide a secure environment for residents and visitors in Central Visayas throughout the holiday season.
