In a significant blow to criminal activities in Central Visayas, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 has successfully confiscated illegal drugs valued at over P10.2 million during an intensive week-long anti-criminality campaign.
Major Drug Busts and Arrests
The security operations, conducted from November 16 to 22, 2025, resulted in the seizure of 1,511.87 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P10,280,716. Police authorities arrested 213 drug suspects across 179 separate anti-illegal drug operations throughout the region.
This massive crackdown forms part of the PRO 7's enhanced security measures as the holiday season approaches. The campaign specifically targets various criminal activities including illegal drugs, loose firearms, wanted persons, and illegal gambling to ensure public safety during the expected influx of visitors to Cebu.
Firearms Recovery and Wanted Persons Captured
Beyond the drug operations, PRO 7 personnel made significant progress in removing illegal weapons from communities. The week-long campaign led to the confiscation of 35 unlicensed firearms, one grenade, and 95 bullets of various calibers.
These weapons recovery operations aim to prevent shooting incidents in Region 7 and deter criminals from using firearms within communities, especially with Christmas and New Year celebrations approaching.
The newly established tracker team, originally created to pursue individuals involved in anomalous flood control projects, demonstrated remarkable efficiency by capturing 94 wanted individuals. Among those apprehended were:
- Six Regional Level Most Wanted Persons
- Four provincial level wanted persons
- Two city level wanted persons
- Four municipal level wanted persons

All police units across PRO 7 participated vigorously in the comprehensive campaign against criminal elements. The synchronized operations focused on multiple fronts to strengthen public security and curb criminality as crowds begin to gather in Cebu for holiday activities.
