Joint forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 and the Labangon Police Station arrested a suspected high-value target after seizing P680,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Filter Site, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
PDEA 7 Regional Director Joel Plaza identified the suspect as alias “Kokong,” 39, a resident of the area.
Confiscated from the suspect were three packages of suspected shabu weighing 100 grams, buy-bust money, and a cellphone used in the transaction. The evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 Laboratory for chemical analysis.
Reports indicate that Kokong could sell half a kilogram of shabu weekly, which he sourced from a supplier.
It was also learned that Kokong had been arrested in 2022 for illegal drugs but was released in 2024 after his case was dismissed.
Authorities are preparing charges against the suspect for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
