Senator Ronald dela Rosa has designated Senators Christopher Go, Jinggoy Estrada, and Rodante Marcoleta as vice chairpersons of the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs, which he chairs. Acting Majority Floor Leader Joel Villanueva announced the appointments during Tuesday's plenary session.
Committee Membership
Senators Robin Padilla and Imee Marcos were also elected as members of the committee. Dela Rosa was elected chairman of the committee on May 11, coinciding with his return to the Senate to vote for Senator Alan Peter Cayetano as the new Senate president, replacing Senator Vicente Sotto III.
Other Appointments
Meanwhile, Senator Padilla was appointed vice chairman of the committee on basic education under Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda.
The appointment of vice chairs in Dela Rosa's committee comes amid authorities' pursuit of his arrest under an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC).
