DOJ Asks Bondoc to Disclose Dela Rosa's Location

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has formally requested singer-lawyer Jimmy Bondoc to disclose information regarding the whereabouts of Senator Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa, against whom an arrest warrant has been issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). According to the DOJ, Justice Secretary Frederick Vida ordered the issuance of a letter request to Bondoc, who serves as legal counsel for Dela Rosa, asking him to provide any information he may hold or that could assist in locating his client.

Cooperation with Legal Processes

Secretary Vida emphasized that this is an opportunity for Attorney Bondoc to cooperate with legal processes and assist law enforcement authorities in the proper service of the ICC warrant. He stressed that attorney-client privilege cannot be used as a reason to refuse cooperation in legal proceedings, especially when it involves obstructing justice or harboring individuals wanted by law.

Legal Obligations

The DOJ reminded the public that cooperating with investigations is part of upholding the law and ensuring the continuity of processes related to the case. The request underscores the government's commitment to international legal obligations and the rule of law.
