Police Nab Iloilo's 3rd Most Wanted in Anilao Raid

Authorities from the Anilao Municipal Police Station (MPS) have successfully captured the third most wanted person in Iloilo province, a suspect facing a charge of qualified rape. The arrest took place in Barangay San Carlos, Anilao, Iloilo, on the morning of November 20, 2025.

Details of the Arrest and the Suspect

The operation was conducted at approximately 9:43 a.m. based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo. The court had issued the arrest warrant just three days prior, on November 17, 2025.

The suspect, identified only by the alias 'Mark', is a 39-year-old farmer and a resident of Anilao. He is accused of committing qualified rape, a crime prosecuted under the amended provisions of the Revised Penal Code. The court has set no bail for his temporary liberty, underscoring the severity of the charge.

Aftermath and Official Statement

Following the arrest, the individual was transported to the Anilao MPS for the necessary documentation and processing to proceed with his case. Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of the Police Regional Office–Western Visayas (PRO 6), praised the personnel involved for their effective work.

In a statement, Ligan commended the Anilao MPS and issued a strong warning to criminals. "Let this serve as a reminder that criminality will not be tolerated, and that our PNP remains vigilant and steadfast in protecting every law-abiding citizen in Western Visayas," he declared.
