NBI Denies Political Targeting in Operations

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has clarified that it does not target individuals who oppose the current administration. NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag emphasized that the agency does not engage in politics when conducting cases or operations.

NBI Director Highlights Successful Operations

Matibag highlighted the bureau's 182 successful operations, which have led to the filing of cases to hold accountable those who should be held responsible. He explained that out of nearly 200 cases or operations launched by the NBI, only two involved political personalities.

These include the case involving the family of former Representative Mike Defensor and the most recent case of Jay Sonza. Apart from these, Matibag said no other political figures have been included.
