In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement in Western Visayas, a joint police operation successfully apprehended the region's fifth most wanted individual in Barangay Poblacion, Carles, Iloilo. The arrest occurred at approximately 10:58 a.m. on November 7, 2025, marking a critical achievement in the ongoing campaign to ensure public safety.
Details of the Apprehension and Charges
The suspect, identified by police as alias Ayat, a 39-year-old farmer and resident of Carles, Iloilo, was taken into custody by operatives from the Carles Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd IPMFC). The arrest was executed by virtue of a warrant issued for two counts of violating Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
The warrant for his arrest was issued just one day prior to the operation, on November 6, 2025, by the Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 66, located in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo. The court set a recommended bail of P80,000 for each count, totaling P160,000 for his release.
