The main trial in the malversation case against former Senator Ramon 'Bong' Revilla Jr. and his co-accused began on Tuesday, May 5, at the Sandiganbayan. The non-bailable case stems from an alleged ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan, worth P92.8 million.
Court Proceedings
According to Associate Justice Ronald Moreno, the court granted the prosecution's motion to recall Jason Cruz, the records custodian of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), to testify. Prosecutor Maria Cristina Marallag-Batacan stated that Cruz would present a logbook containing crucial evidence related to the projects.
Bail Resolution Expected
The resolution on Revilla's bail petition is expected to be released on Wednesday, May 6. The former senator has previously denied any involvement in the anomalous project. Revilla had earlier posted bail for his graft case but remains detained due to the non-bailable malversation charge.
