Two Suspects Arrested for Cebu Warehouse Killing

Police arrested two suspects in a follow-up operation for the killing of a warehouse caretaker in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City. The incident occurred at a warehouse on J. Fortich Street at around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

The victim was identified as Renboy Jabagat Kadusale, 19, a native of Negros who was residing at the Grand Land Warehouse on J. Fortich Street. He was found dead after being struck on the head and neck with a pipe.

According to the investigation by the Guadalupe Police Station 9, the victim caught two men stealing scrap metal inside the warehouse. The lookout then hit him on the neck and head with a pipe, resulting in his death.

Police immediately intensified their investigation and identified the perpetrators. At around 4:05 p.m., a concerned citizen personally visited the police station and provided information on the suspects' location.

The Guadalupe Police Station formed a tracker team led by Police Captain Venstine Bontilao, along with the informant. They proceeded to a hut where the suspects were hiding. Police positioned themselves around the hut, and upon seeing the two men inside, they swiftly entered and arrested them.

The arrested suspects were identified as Jayson Gabutan Caubat, 30, from Riverside Duterte Street, Guadalupe; and Rocky Moralde Mansanares, 37, from Barangay Calamba.

The suspects admitted to the crime. Rocky allegedly acted as the lookout and was the one who struck the victim. According to them, they entered the warehouse between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, but the victim caught them, leading to the assault.
