Operatives from the Sawang Calero Police Station apprehended a man wanted for Grave Threats at approximately 1:30 PM on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, on Carlock Street in Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City.
Suspect Identified and Arrest Details
The arrested individual was identified as alias Payekoy, a 40-year-old resident of Barangay Duljo-Fatima. Payekoy was captured based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Bernadeth Romarate-Bisooc of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Branch 6 in Cebu City, dated April 17, 2026.
Background of the Case
According to Police Captain Noah Añana, the chief of the Sawang Calero Police Station, the case originated from a heated argument between the suspect and his neighbor while Payekoy was intoxicated. In a fit of anger and bravado, Payekoy threatened to kill the victim, instilling extreme fear for their safety.
