Dolores Police Chief, 16 Others Removed After Viral Drinking Video
17 Dolores Cops Removed Over Viral Station Drinking Video

The chief of the Dolores Municipal Police Station in Eastern Samar and 16 of his personnel have been relieved from their posts after a photo and video of them drinking alcohol inside the police station went viral on social media.

Immediate Relief Ordered by Regional Director

The decisive action was taken by Eastern Visayas Regional Police Director, Police Brigadier General Jason Capoy. Lieutenant Colonel Analiza Armeza, the regional police spokesperson, confirmed the order in an interview with reporters. The relief covers all identified personnel involved in the incident, including one non-uniformed employee.

"Yes, based on the initial report we received, the personnel were having a Christmas party at that time. So they were drinking inside the police station," Armeza stated. She emphasized that drinking within police station premises is strictly prohibited under existing protocols and guidelines.

Investigation Launched into Protocol Violations

Armeza revealed that the relief order was followed by the launch of a formal investigation. A critical detail that emerged is that many of the involved police officers were officially 'on duty' during the time the drinking session occurred on December 15, 2025.

The police spokesperson made it clear that the organization will not tolerate any wrongdoing by its members. "If it is proven that there was an error or violation of protocols by our involved personnel, there will be corresponding penalties," Armeza asserted. The statement underscores the police force's commitment to accountability and internal discipline.

Accountability and Public Trust

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges police institutions face in maintaining discipline and public trust. The swift relief of the station commander and his team indicates the regional command's intent to address the breach seriously. The outcome of the investigation will determine the final administrative or disciplinary penalties for the involved individuals, which could range from suspension to more severe sanctions.

The viral nature of the evidence left little room for delay, forcing immediate transparency and action from the Philippine National Police in the Eastern Visayas region. The case serves as a reminder to all units about the strict enforcement of conduct rules, especially within government facilities.
