Sta. Ana Pampanga Urged to Expand Industrial Zone to 200 Hectares
Businessman Pushes Sta. Ana Industrial Zone Expansion

In a bold move to transform Sta. Ana's economic landscape, prominent businessman Rene Romero has called for a significant expansion of the town's industrial zone during a recent government meeting.

Expanding Industrial Capacity for Growth

During the Local Investments and Incentives Board meeting on November 21, 2025, Romero served as resource speaker and presented a compelling case to Mayor Dinan Labung. He emphasized that the current 22-hectare industrial allocation is inadequate to meet the town's economic potential.

The business leader proposed increasing the designated industrial area to between 100 and 200 hectares through an updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP). This expansion would accommodate various industries including agro-industrial facilities, logistics operations, fabrication shops, and light manufacturing firms that currently cannot be accommodated.

Strategic Advantages and Competitive Edge

Romero highlighted Sta. Ana's unique advantages that position it as an ideal investment hub. The town boasts a young labor force that provides industries with stable, long-term operational capabilities.

Geographically, Sta. Ana's proximity to key areas including San Fernando City, Mexico, Arayat, Magalang, and Candaba creates a strategic network that enhances its appeal to investors seeking accessible locations in Pampanga province.

Creating an Investor-Friendly Environment

Beyond physical expansion, Romero recommended establishing an Investment Promotion Office that would provide clear guidance to potential investors. This office would develop an "investment menu" detailing available industrial zones, allowable industries, land-use regulations, utility availability, and local incentive programs.

The businessman stressed that predictable policies, efficient processing, and strong investor protection are essential components for sustaining economic activity. These measures would help position Sta. Ana as an emerging growth center in Pampanga, creating numerous livelihood opportunities for local residents while attracting significant investments to the region.
