Cebu Police Arrest Over 2,000 Wanted Persons in 2025

The Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) is celebrating a major victory in its fight against crime, announcing the successful capture of close to two thousand individuals with outstanding warrants throughout the year 2025.

A Year of Intensive Manhunt Operations

Official records from the CPPO, covering the period from January 1 to December 31, 2025, reveal a highly active campaign. Police launched a total of 1,797 manhunt operations across the province. These coordinated efforts led to the service of 2,054 warrants of arrest and the successful apprehension of 1,740 individuals.

High-Profile Arrests and Modern Tactics

Among those captured, a significant number were considered high-priority targets. The data shows that 246 of those arrested were classified as Most Wanted Persons (MWP), while another 1,494 had various pending criminal cases. Police Colonel Abubakar Udang Mangelen Jr., the Provincial Director of CPPO, credited this remarkable achievement to a multi-faceted approach.

He emphasized that the success was a direct result of strict discipline, accurate intelligence gathering, and seamless coordination among all police units. Furthermore, the force leveraged modern investigative equipment and database-driven targeting systems to efficiently track down and locate fugitives.

Sustaining Peace and Order in 2026

The CPPO has pledged to maintain this intensified operational tempo in the new year. Authorities assure the public that they will continue their relentless pursuit of wanted persons throughout 2026. The ultimate goal remains unwavering: to ensure the continued safety, security, and peace for all residents of the Province of Cebu.
