Cebu Province Grants P10M to Sinulog 2026 Foundation

Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro has announced a significant financial boost for the upcoming Sinulog 2026 festivities. The Provincial Government of Cebu is extending P10 million in financial assistance to the Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI). This substantial fund is earmarked to support the various activities planned for the grand celebration this January.

Cash Prizes for Local Government Contingents

Beyond the aid for the SFI, Governor Baricuatro also revealed that the province will provide additional cash prizes for local government units (LGUs) participating in the Sinulog competition. Municipalities will receive P5 million each, while component cities will get P3 million each. This incentive aims to encourage vibrant and competitive participation from Cebu's localities.

Out of the 37 total contingents expected to compete this year, eight will be representing the Province of Cebu. These include the cities of Toledo, Carcar, and Mandaue, along with the municipalities of Alcoy, Asturias, Carmen, Dumanjug, and Moalboal. The City of Danao will participate as a guest contingent.

Governor's Personal Pledge and Capitol Events

In a continuation of a cherished tradition, Governor Baricuatro declared that she will once again perform a dance during the Sinulog. She considers this her personal offering and expression of gratitude for the blessings received by the province.

The Capitol grounds will also host a Barrio Fiesta, a community feast expected to be attended by officials from the capital and visitors from various sectors. This event adds to the communal and celebratory spirit of the Sinulog.

Ensuring Safety and Security

To guarantee a safe and orderly celebration for all, the provincial government has already crafted comprehensive security plans for its contingents. The primary objective is to prevent any risks or difficulties for participants and spectators throughout the duration of the festivities. These preparations underscore the administration's commitment to a successful and secure Sinulog 2026.
