Davao City Boosts Police Fleet with P77M Vehicle Turnover
Davao City Police Get P77M in New Vehicles

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has significantly upgraded its operational strength following a major investment from the local government. On December 21, 2025, the City Government of Davao formally handed over a fleet of new vehicles valued at P77 million to the police force.

New Fleet Details and Distribution

The substantial boost in mobility assets includes a total of 35 new vehicles. The acquisition breaks down into seven 4x4 four-door pickup patrol trucks, twenty-five 4x2 two-door pickup patrol trucks, and three Toyota Commuter response vans. This new fleet is strategically allocated to expand police coverage across Davao City.

The vehicles will be deployed to Police Stations 1 through 20, ensuring broader ground-level presence. Key operational units set to benefit include the Traffic Enforcement Unit, Tourist Police Unit, Mobile Patrol Unit, and the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies. This distribution is designed to improve deployment efficiency and response capabilities in all areas of the city.

Ceremony and Official Remarks

The official turnover ceremony was held at the DCPO Parade Ground at Camp Captain Domingo E. Leonor on San Pedro Street. Leading the event was Acting City Director PCOL Mannan C. Muarip, who emphasized the critical role of the new assets.

"These mobility assets will greatly improve our capacity to respond swiftly and effectively to the needs of our community," stated Muarip. He issued a reminder to all unit commanders and personnel to exercise proper care, maintenance, and responsible handling of the vehicles to ensure their longevity. "With discipline and accountability, we can maximize their use to strengthen police visibility, enhance mobility, and safeguard the people of Davao City," he added.

Additional Support from Private Sector

Complementing the local government's initiative, the DCPO also received a donation of 600 raincoats from Goldenville Development and Resources Corp. This contribution aims to protect police officers during patrol duties and emergency operations, particularly during inclement weather, thereby supporting officer welfare and operational readiness.

Police officials highlighted that this combined support from the city government and private stakeholders underscores a shared commitment to public safety. The partnership focuses not only on operational effectiveness but also on ensuring the well-being of the officers on the front lines.

With this expanded fleet and additional equipment, the Davao City Police Office is poised to boost its on-the-ground presence dramatically. The primary goals are to achieve faster response times to public safety concerns and to foster a greater sense of security among the residents of Davao City through enhanced police visibility and mobility.
