Police Raid Disperses Gamblers, One Unlucky Man Caught

Authorities from the Tabogon Police Station successfully disrupted an illegal gambling operation on Thursday, November 27, 2025. The raid, which took place at 3:25 in the afternoon in Barangay Moabog, Tabogon City, targeted a noisy and active cockfighting session, locally known as 'tigbakayan'.

A Fleeting Success for Most

Acting on a tip-off about a large group of gamblers, police officers arrived at the scene to find the suspects scattering in every direction to escape. While the majority of the individuals managed to flee, one man's luck ran out completely during the chaotic scramble.

The One Who Didn't Get Away

The sole individual apprehended was a 28-year-old local resident known by the alias "Carlo". In a twist of misfortune, he found himself isolated and captured by the authorities while his companions escaped. During the arrest, police confiscated his gamecock, which had a gaff or blade ('buwang') attached, and the cash bet money he was holding, which amounted to P238.00.

As a direct consequence of the raid, Carlo is now facing formal charges for illegal gambling. He is currently detained at the Tabogon Police Station as the legal proceedings against him begin.
