The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) has undergone a minor reorganization of its leadership, with several key officers receiving new assignments. The reshuffle, ordered by Police Colonel Criscente Tiguelo, took effect on December 2, 2025.
Ceremony Marks Leadership Transition
According to Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong of the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), a formal turnover and assumption of office ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Negros Oriental Provincial Headquarters. The event was led by Police Colonel Tiguelo and attended by the command group, provincial and personal staff, as well as the outgoing and incoming officers alongside other Norppo personnel.
Malong emphasized that the ceremony underscored Norppo's commitment to continuity, operational excellence, and community-focused policing.
List of Officer Reassignments
The strategic movement affected several police officials across the province. The following are the key changes in command:
- Lieutenant Colonel Ser Ulrick Christian Gelera is the new chief of the Guihulngan City Police Station, replacing Lieutenant Colonel Lirio Coral.
- Lieutenant Colonel Romeo Cubo now leads the Tanjay City Police Station. He takes over from Lieutenant Colonel Roland Desiree Lavisto, who was reassigned as chief of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).
- Major Ranie Bantolio assumed command of the Mabinay Municipal Police Station, succeeding Major Nelson Lamoco.
- Major Nelson Lamoco moved to become the new chief of the Siaton Municipal Police Station, replacing Captain Benjamin Fuentes Jr.
- Captain Nelmer Miravalles took over the Amlan Municipal Police Station from Captain Dindo Padron.
Strengthening Leadership and Public Trust
In his address, Police Colonel Tiguelo congratulated the newly appointed officers, framing their new posts as both an honor and a solemn trust. He called on them to lead with integrity, professionalism, and dedication to their respective communities.
Tiguelo explained that the mass turnover of command is a strategic measure designed to strengthen leadership, enhance operational readiness, and build public confidence throughout Negros Oriental. He stated it showcases Norppo's unwavering commitment to peace, order, and responsive, community-centered policing.
"With capable leaders now at the helm, the office reaffirms its mission to ensure peace and order, build stronger community partnerships, and deliver professional and compassionate policing throughout Negros Oriental," Tiguelo added.
The police colonel clarified that the reshuffling is part of the regular movement of officers within the province, ensuring fresh perspectives and sustained effectiveness in police operations.
