Embattled Porac Mayor Jaime "Jing" Capil has expressed sadness following the issuance of a warrant for his arrest by a Pasig court. The mayor asserted he is not evading authorities and has initiated steps to post bail.
Mayor Learns of Warrant Through Media Reports
Capil revealed that he first learned about the arrest order from news reports on Monday, December 2, 2025. The warrant was issued by Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 265. In a public statement, the mayor clarified his position, strongly denying any attempt to flee from the legal proceedings.
"Hindi po ako nagtatago. Hindi po ako tumatakas sa proseso ng batas," Capil said, translating to "I am not hiding. I am not running away from the legal process."
Legal Team Initiates Bail Proceedings
Mayor Capil confirmed that his legal counsel has already started the bail process. His lawyers proceeded to the court on Monday morning to comply with all necessary requirements.
He explained that because his team has not yet received an official copy of the court order, they needed to secure all required clearances to facilitate the bail application. "Lahat po ng kailangan, ginagawa at sinusunod po namin ayon sa itinakdang utos ng korte," Capil stated, emphasizing their compliance with judicial directives.
Appeal for Fair and Due Process
The mayor pledged to submit himself to the full legal procedure. However, he made a public appeal for equitable treatment under the justice system.
"Sasailalim po ako sa proseso. Hiling ko lang po ay ibigay sa 'kin ang fair at due process of the law," Capil added, meaning "I will undergo the process. My only request is that I be given fair and due process of the law."
The case adds another layer to the challenges facing the local chief executive, who now must navigate the judicial system while maintaining his duties in office.
