Porac Mayor Jaime 'Jing' Capil has expressed strong optimism about launching more significant programs for the town in 2026, banking on increased local revenues and a higher Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).
Funding Growth and Facing Challenges
The mayor revealed his positive outlook during the Christmas lighting ceremony held at the new Municipal Hall in Barangay Cangatba on Tuesday night. He clarified that the town's population growth, which leads to a larger IRA share from the national government, also brings increased expenses, particularly for social services.
Capil confidently stated, 'But we are ready to meet and face the challenges ahead.' He emphasized the administration's goal to accomplish more in terms of services and initiatives designed to improve the quality of life for Porac's residents.
Driving Business and Community Spirit
Beyond public services, Mayor Capil is actively working to attract commercial investments. He mentioned that ongoing municipal initiatives are focused on making Porac a more business-friendly destination, and he expects these efforts to yield positive results with new investments arriving soon.
The Christmas ceremony itself was a community affair, featuring the iconic Pampanga lanterns and a nearly giant Christmas tree illuminated in front of the new municipal building. The local government also set up food stalls for vendors selling local delicacies, creating a festive atmosphere.
The mayor expressed his hope that the new municipal hall would become a holiday attraction for families throughout the season. Looking forward, Capil shared his wish for greater prosperity for the entire town in the coming year of 2026.
