The Commission on Elections (Comelec) 7 has exceeded its voter registration target for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), after recording over 318,000 applicants across Cebu and Bohol.
Registration Deadline
During a media forum on Monday, May 19, 2026, Assistant Director Veronico Petalcorin announced that the last day of registration was on Monday, May 18, 2026. Petalcorin also stated that although there were some individuals who requested consideration after the cutoff, Comelec did not allow late requests.
"If we allow even just one late request, we must accept all. That is why we will not allow it," he said.
Total Registrants
Comelec registered a total of 318,390 applicants throughout the entire registration period for the BSKE on November 2.

Comelec also announced the official timeline for the BSKE 2026:
- Filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC): September 28 to October 5
- Prohibition on early campaigning: September 28 to October 21
- Campaign period: October 22 to October 31
- Election period: October 3 to November 9
- Liquor ban: November 1
- Election day: November 2
- Last day for filing SOCE: December 2
