The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has reminded all Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) voters who have reached the age of 18 that they are not required to register again as regular voters. This reminder comes with less than a week remaining before the voter registration period ends.
"If you have previously registered for the SK, there is no need to register again," the Comelec stated. The poll body emphasized that, as a general rule, no individual should register more than once. "You must only register once. This registration is permanent," the Comelec said. It further warned that "registering more than once is an election offense and is punishable by law."
Registration Statistics
Data provided by the Comelec shows that 4,740,551 applications for voter registration have already been received nationwide during the period from October 20 to May 9. The voter registration period across the country, except in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), began on October 20, 2025, and will run until May 18, 2026.
The Comelec encourages all eligible voters to take advantage of the remaining days to ensure their registration is in order. Those who have already registered as SK voters and have since turned 18 are automatically considered regular voters and need not undergo another registration process.
Important Reminders
- SK voters who are now 18 years old are already regular voters.
- Registration is permanent; do not register again.
- Multiple registrations constitute an election offense.
The Comelec urges the public to comply with registration rules to avoid legal consequences. For more information, voters may visit their local Comelec offices or the official Comelec website.
