Davao de Oro Governor Raul G. Mabanglo has been recognized as Honorary Governor of the Year at the 10th Nation Builders and MOSLIV Awards. The accolade underscores his leadership in fostering peace and development in the province.
Peace as a Foundation for Progress
During the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity-organized International and Private Partners Forum held on June 5, 2026, at Manila Hotel, Governor Mabanglo emphasized that sustaining peace is crucial for transformative programs. He noted that after four years of being insurgency-free, the province is now poised to advance initiatives that drive progress.
"But now, as we celebrate our fourth year of being insurgency-free, this is the best time to advance initiatives and programs that drive progress and development in Davao de Oro," Mabanglo stated.
Collaboration for Sustainable Development
The governor stressed that long-term development requires collaboration among government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and development partners. He highlighted the IPPF as a vital platform for building stronger partnerships aimed at peacebuilding, inclusive growth, and sustainable development.
Mabanglo also underscored the province's journey toward "Kalamboan," a local term for development, citing improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, social services, tourism, and governance. "From the roads we connect, hospitals we improve, medical service made even more accessible, farmers supported, social services within reach, tourism boosted and government enhanced among other efforts, it is all because peace is sustained," he said.
Commitment to National Programs
On behalf of the provincial government, Mabanglo reaffirmed Davao de Oro's commitment to supporting national programs that contribute to the welfare of its people. He expressed optimism that continued cooperation among stakeholders will accelerate development and bring lasting benefits to communities across the province.
