Major Drug Bust in Cebu City Nets Former Educator
Authorities in Cebu City have successfully concluded a series of anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the confiscation of suspected shabu with a standard drug price valued at over P1.36 million. The operations, which took place on Friday and Saturday, November 21 and 22, 2025, led to the arrest of their primary target, a former public school teacher.
Buy-Bust Operation in Kalunasan
The first buy-bust operation was conducted by the Guadalupe Police Station at approximately 11:50 PM on Friday, November 21, 2025. The location was Sitio Forestre in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.
The apprehended suspect was identified as an alias 'George,' 44 years old, a former teacher who resides in the mountainous area of Sitio Santol, Barangay Sirao. From the suspect, law enforcement operatives recovered 11 large packs of suspected shabu, weighing a total of approximately 200 grams.
Intelligence-Driven Police Work
The arrest was the culmination of diligent police work. The Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Guadalupe Police Station initially received credible information regarding the suspect's alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.
This tip prompted authorities to place the former teacher under close surveillance and monitoring to verify the information and gather sufficient evidence. Once all necessary data was secured, the anti-illegal drug operation was immediately launched under the leadership of Police Captain Venstine Bontilao, leading directly to the suspect's capture. The confiscated evidence, including the buy-bust money, was properly documented.
This significant seizure underscores the ongoing efforts of the Cebu City Police to combat the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community, resulting in the arrest of a individual previously entrusted with shaping young minds.
