The Mandaue City Council has approved a resolution requesting P50 million in financial assistance from the Cebu Provincial Government to purchase essential medical equipment for the Mandaue City Hospital.
Resolution details and purpose
According to Mandaue City Councilor Joel Seno, chairperson of the Committee on Appropriation, Budget and Finance, the funds will be used to acquire critical equipment for the emergency room, operating room, delivery room, laboratory, rehabilitation unit, as well as portable ultrasound machines and mobile X-ray units. Seno emphasized that the hospital building is already complete, but the equipment is needed to make the facility fully operational.
"The hospital building is already there, but what we need now is the equipment. That is why we approved a resolution requesting P50 million from the Cebu Provincial Government so we can provide the necessary medical equipment for our hospital," Seno said.
Support for local health priorities
Seno added that the request supports the health sector priorities of Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano's administration. The resolution was passed during a regular session of the Mandaue City Council on June 29, 2026.
